David Benowitz

David Benowitz has more than 13 years of experience as a DC criminal defense attorney. He was a Criminal Defense Attorney/Staff Attorney at the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia, recognized as the top criminal public defender office in the country, from 1995-2001, where he represented clients in the litigation of serious juvenile and adult criminal matters including first degree murder, first degree sexual abuse, and armed robbery.
Mr. Benowitz obtained an LLM. in Trial Advocacy in 2006 from Temple University’s Beasley School of Law. In addition, he graduated near the top of his class at George Washington Law School in 1995 where he participated in the DC Law Students in Court Program and was a member of the George Washington Law Review and the Moot Court Board.
Mr. Benowitz graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1991 with honors, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Honors American History.
